TP316L Stainless Steel Finned Tube Manufacturer & Supplier for Oil & Gas Heat Exchangers
TP316L Stainless Steel Finned Tubes for Demanding Heat Transfer Applications
TP316L stainless steel finned tubes for heat exchangers, air coolers, condensers, waste heat recovery, and other engineered thermal equipment supplied for oil & gas, petrochemical, refinery, chemical, power generation, marine, and industrial projects. PETROL STEEL has over 10 years of experience in exporting TP316L stainless steel finned tubes to international EPC contractors, heat exchanger manufacturers, equipment suppliers, and industrial procurement teams who are looking for controlled specifications, traceability of materials, and reliable project coordination.
TP316L is a popular choice where heat transfer equipment requires a combination of stainless steel corrosion resistance and increased external heat transfer surface area. The 316L grade contains molybdenum and gives better resistance to localized corrosion in many chloride-containing and industrial environments than 304L. The low-carbon grade is well established for welded stainless steel applications. However, in actual project selection, the suitability of TP316L depends on process fluid, temperature, chloride concentration, cleaning conditions, stress level, and complete equipment design. So instead of taking 316L as a universal solution, PETROL STEEL reviews the service conditions and customer specification before confirming the material and fin construction.

Engineered Finned Tubes for Heat Exchangers and Energy Equipment
A finned tube gives a higher external heat-transfer surface from a given length of tube. This allows a heat exchanger designer to meet the required thermal duty in a more compact tube bundle. TP316L Stainless Steel Finned Tubes are therefore relevant to air-cooled heat exchangers, fin-fan coolers, gas coolers, condensers, economizers, waste heat recovery systems, and other equipment in which the outside heat transfer resistance is significant. Ongoing international industry activity continues to associate finned-tube technology with oil & gas, petrochemical processing, power generation, gas processing, and industrial heat recovery. Discussions in the industry and professional networks also suggest continued interest in TP316L stainless steel finned tubes, air coolers, heat exchanger bundles, and high-temperature heat recovery applications.
For overseas EPC buyers, the question is not simply whether a supplier can offer “316L finned tubes.” The tube OD, wall thickness, tube length, fin height, fin pitch, fin thickness, fin material and method of fin attachment, unfinned ends, dimensional tolerances, testing requirements, surface condition and documentation must all be per the heat exchanger or equipment spec. PETROL STEEL can coordinate these requirements with the production team prior to manufacturing, helping buyers avoid specification gaps between the tube manufacturer, finning process, and final equipment assembly.

TP316L Stainless Steel Finned Tube Specifications and Manufacturing Options
The standard supply scope can be designed to meet project drawings, heat exchanger calculations, and purchaser specifications. The standard base-tube diameters for TP316L are approximately 16 mm to 51 mm, including the commonly used 19.05 mm and 25.4 mm. Typical wall thicknesses are of the order of about 1.2 mm to 3.0 mm, and tube lengths are normally available of about 1,000 mm to 12,000 mm depending on the manufacturing route and project requirements. The fin height, pitch, and thickness are chosen according to the required heat transfer performance, mechanical conditions, and the finning process.
According to the specifications agreed upon and the production capability available, constructions can be integral or embedded fin tubes, helical finned tubes, or high-frequency welded fin tubes. Where the fins are specified as aluminum or another material, the base tube and fin material are clearly identified separately in the technical data. The tube standard is determined by the product construction and purchaser specification for pressure or heat exchanger service. Seamless austenitic stainless steel heat exchanger tubes are often specified to ASTM/ASME A213, and welded austenitic heat exchanger tubes may be supplied to ASTM/ASME A249. ASTM A269 may apply where the purchaser specification calls for general-purpose austenitic stainless tubing.

Typical Applications: Oil & Gas, Refinery, Petrochemical, and Industrial Heat Transfer
PETROL STEEL views TP316L Stainless Steel Finned Tubes as part of its overall oil & gas and energy piping supply capability and not as a stand-alone HVAC commodity product. Typical applications include refinery process cooling, petrochemical heat exchangers, gas processing equipment, air-cooled heat exchangers, condensers, industrial cooling systems, waste heat recovery, chemical processing, marine equipment, and certain desalination-related heat-transfer systems. For example, in the Middle East, existing heat exchanger suppliers continue to specify SS316L as well as carbon steel, duplex stainless steel, and titanium for refinery, petrochemical, desalination, and fin-fan duties, demonstrating the importance of corrosion-resistant tube materials for these project environments.
The same is true also for project-specific requirements. If a buyer is replacing existing tubes, PETROL STEEL can review the original tube specification, drawings, tube dimensions, and fin configuration. For new EPC projects, the buyer can provide the data sheet of the heat exchanger, tube schedule, fin specification, applicable code, inspection and testing plan, or equipment drawing. This allows the quotation to be prepared around a specific technical requirement rather than a generic “316L finned tube” description.

Quality Control, Inspection, and Traceability
Quality assurance is an integral part of the PETROL STEEL supply model. Each TP316L Stainless Steel Finned Tube order shall be under internal QC inspection and can be coordinated with independent third-party inspection according to the purchase order, inspection plan, and purchaser requirements. Typical inspection activities include dimensional inspection, visual examination, material identification/PMI, mechanical or metallurgical verification as required, hydrostatic testing as applicable, eddy-current or other NDT requirements, fin-to-tube examination, and documentation review.
Material certificates are provided at the agreed standard and documentation level, including EN 10204 3.1 where required. Third-party inspection can be arranged before shipment if required by the customer or project. PETROL STEEL’s quality team has an average experience of more than 10 years, the international trade and project coordination team has an experience of more than 20 years, and the logistics team has an average experience of more than 15 years. It is simple: to maintain technical requirements, production, inspection, documentation, and shipment under coordinated control from RFQ to delivery.
