DESCRIPTION

Offshore Platform & Jacket Structural Steel Tubulars Supplier for Oil & Gas EPC Projects

For international EPC contractors, offshore fabricators, and project procurement teams, tubulars are more than just steel pipes. Jacket legs, braces, piles, pile sleeves, and other tubular members shall be in accordance with the approved design, material specification, welding procedure, inspection plan, traceability requirements, and offshore delivery schedule. PETROL STEEL supplies Offshore Platform & Jacket Structural Steel Tubulars for offshore oil and gas platforms, jacket structures, marine energy infrastructure, and related EPC projects with technical coordination, project QA/QC, and international logistics support.

There is still substantial demand in the offshore EPC market for fixed platforms and associated structural steel. Industry forecasts published for 2026 indicate that globally more than 70 fixed-platform EPC awards could be awarded, following 94 fixed-platform awards in 2025. The Middle East continues to be a key market, and there is also a lot of activity offshore in Africa, Asia Pacific, and the Americas. Large jacket structures are still being used in oil and gas development and brownfield expansion programs, as shown by recent projects in Qatar, Libya, Nigeria, and elsewhere offshore.

Engineered Structural Tubulars for Offshore Platforms and Jackets

PETROL STEEL provides large-diameter structural tubulars to project drawings, material specifications, and approved inspection requirements. Materials available are API 2H Gr.42/Gr.50, API 2W Gr.50/Gr.60, API 2Y Gr.60, EN 10225 offshore structural grades, and ASTM A131 EH36/FH36, subject to applicable product standard, product form, and classification requirements. Additional requirements such as Z35 through-thickness properties, TMCP, controlled carbon equivalent, specified steel mill sourcing, and full heat/plate traceability can be coordinated for project-specific procurement.

Typical outside diameters are on the order of 406-3,000 mm (16-118″). Wall thicknesses are on the order of 12.7-120 mm, and typical individual lengths are 6-24 m. Depending on the design and the applicable specification, tubulars can be supplied for jacket legs, braces, piles, pile sleeves, dolphins, and other heavy structural members. Manufacturing is mainly based on SAWL (Submerged Arc Welded Longitudinal) pipe with JCO or UOE forming as applicable. ERW may be considered for selected members if allowed by the governing specification. Bevels, end preparation, welding, and dimensional control are coordinated against approved drawings, WPS/PQR, and project requirements.

What EPC Buyers Need to Control

The key question with offshore structural tubular procurement is rarely just ‘Can you supply this diameter? More critical questions are: can the supplier control the entire package from material procurement through fabrication, inspection, documentation, and delivery? PETROL STEEL manages material certificates, heat traceability, welding documentation, dimensional inspection, and project-specific NDT requirements. Inspection shall include VT, dimensional inspection, UT, RT, AUT/advanced UT, TOFD, hardness testing, and CVN impact testing as per the approved ITP. EN 10204 3.1/3.2 MTCs, WPS/PQR, NDT reports, welding records, and heat-treatment records can be provided when required. DNV, ABS, BV, LR, CCS, SGS, TÜV, or other project-approved bodies can also arrange third-party inspection.

This level of control is especially important as offshore projects increasingly require large volumes of tubulars, heavy individual components, and complex delivery sequences. For example, a recent Qatar North Field offshore project used some 32,000 MT of steel products, including bulk tubulars, piles, and sub-assemblies, with individual components weighing up to 135 MT, with a 3.5 m diameter and 100 mm wall thickness. These projects shed light on why procurement teams need to evaluate material availability, fabrication capability, traceability, inspection coordination, lifting requirements, and transportation planning.

PETROL STEEL Supply Capability for International EPC Projects

PETROL STEEL has been supplying and exporting Offshore Platform & Jacket Structural Steel Tubulars for more than 10 years. We have project support based on experienced technical, quality, international trade, and logistics teams: a technical team with more than 10 years of industry experience, an international trade and marketing team with more than 20 years of experience, QC personnel with more than 10 years of experience, and logistics personnel with an average of more than 15 years of experience. The point is not to sell a catalog item and let the buyer assemble the rest. Our teams provide support for specification review, RFQ clarification, production follow-up, inspection coordination, documentation, packing, shipping, and after-sales communication.

All PETROL STEEL supplies are subject to internal QC inspection and, if required, independent third-party inspection prior to shipment. We have over 10 years of international export activity listed on our stated supply record for this product category. PETROL STEEL has reported no product-and-service claim cases for this product category. For EPC buyers, this means the emphasis is on traceability in documentation and control in project execution, not on unsupportable claims such as “best quality” or “fast delivery.” Delivery schedules are checked against the actual order, approved drawings, availability of material, production route, inspection requirements, and shipping plan.

Stock, Custom Fabrication, Delivery, and Documentation

Availability depends on grade, OD, wall thickness, length, quantity, and project specification. RFQ PETROL STEEL can look into the requirement if it fits with available material sourcing, production scheduling, or project-specific fabrication. Cut-to-length tubulars, large diameter and heavy wall requirements, project-specific bevels, traceability, coating/corrosion-protection coordination, and inspection documentation can be reviewed against the buyer’s technical specification.

Logistics planning is part of the supply chain for heavy and oversized tubulars. Depending on the dimensions, weight, and destination, cargo may be arranged as breakbulk, heavy-lift, flat-rack, or other suitable project cargo, with marking and handling requirements considered when packing and planning the shipment. This is especially true in offshore EPC projects, where the cost and schedule of moving a large tubular from the fabrication yard to the project site can be as significant as the steel itself.

The core business of PETROL STEEL remains oil & gas piping, offshore energy, and EPC project material supply. Offshore Platform & Jacket Structural Steel Tubulars are therefore part of our wider offshore energy supply capability and not a foray into general-purpose structural steel trading. This positioning enables us to work with procurement teams who require a supplier who understands the language of EPC, MTO, approved drawings, ITP, WPS/PQR, MTC, NDT, third-party inspection, and international project logistics.
